Malaika Arora is a sensational actress from Bollywood, who has swayed hearts with her groovy dance moves umpteen number of times. The Indian actress, who is also well-known for her exquisite fashion sense, is a yogi too. Yes, you heard us right. If you’ve been following Malaika Arora on her social media, you would know that she is a fitness enthusiast. Apart from the gym and pilates session, the model cum dancer is most often spotted outside her yoga studio. She also has yoga buddies who join her for her sessions. Another fact about the Dabbangg actress that hasn’t been hidden away from us is that she is a hard-core foodie. Given her inclination towards health and wellness, we weren’t surprised when she took a vacation with her mother and sister in the Himalayas.

Her retreat pictures were full of their yogic lifestyles as well as simple and sattvic meals. Her fascination for home-cooked food is also no stranger to us. From being on set to travelling for work or vacation, Malaika has always managed to find her comforting home food everywhere. When she was holidaying in Goa with her beau, Arjun Kapoor, the actress shared a glimpse of traditional Goan thali from a local eatery. This time too, Malaika has shared a sweet and simple dinner meal with us. Last night, Malaika Arora took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of her home-cooked dinner. It consisted of khichidi, aloo gobi and achaar “for the win”. She added a filter to the story which stated that she was having it at 8:06 pm on Monday.

Here’s what we are talking about.

Loving Malaika’s dinner meal? Here are the recipes for the same.

1.  Masoor Dal Khichdi

Khichdi, for those untouched by the phenomenon, is a one-pot rice dish made from rice and lentils. The soft and mushy dish is cooked together. The khichdi is made with lots of masoor dal. Finely chopped vegetables can also be added to the rice if you want. Pair it with some achaar aka pickle and you are good to go.

2.  Aloo Gobhi

Gobhi refers to cauliflower and aloo refers to potatoes. The finely diced potatoes and florets of cauliflower are cooked together in a spicy masala. Sometimes, green peas are also added to the dish. A host of spices like red chilli powder, garam masala and salt are added to enhance the flavour of the vegetable. It is usually eaten with chapatti.

3.  Paneer Bhurji With Veggies

Just like a desi version of scrambled eggs, we’ve got an Indianised style of making paneer too. Bhurji means scrambled. The paneer is mashed into a mixture while cumin and onions are added to a pan with oil. Tomatoes and coriander leaves are chopped and added to the paneer. This is all combined together along with lots of spices. This is usually a dry recipe and is best eaten with tawa roti.
