On October 5, Amy Sherman-Palladino's renowned dramedy turned 25. The show, which followed fashionable single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her bookish daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, lasted for six seasons on The WB from 2000 to May 2006 before ending its final season on The CW from September 2006 to May 2007. When sitcoms like Gilmore Girls begin to seep into one’s life, you tend to either follow the fashion, the diet, or the way they view the world. You take the bits from reel life and turn them into real life. It has happened many a times with many other sitcoms such as FRIENDS, The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and ever so recently The Summer I Turned Pretty. The one thing that all these shows have in common is how it’s almost what you want to be like, and that’s a comfort in its own making.
This has led to many ideas around food, too. It’s almost like a tradition to watch a set of films or sitcoms as the season changes from summer to winter and eat food that is inspired by the show as well. Gilmore Girls, too, has inspired its own collection of menus. Fans come back year after year for the incessant coffee orders, mile-a-minute conversation, Rory's pile of novels, and the distinctive people of the charming Stars Hollow, making it the ultimate seasonal watch decades later. If you’ve been a fan for a long time and you’ve wondered what Stars Hollow would taste like on a plate, try these 5 recipes that will not only remind you of Luke’s but also Al’s Pancake World, Weston’s Bakery, Jojos and so on:
Cheeseburgers From Luke’s
Inspired by Gilmore Girls and Luke's Diner, these cheeseburgers are served on a whole wheat bun with fresh ingredients and a tart with a creamy burger sauce. There are lots of caramelised onions and a traditional burger sauce. If you'd like, you can top it with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheddar. Spread a layer of burger sauce on the bottom bun first, then the pickle, tomato, and burger patty. Add more burger sauce, caramelised onions, and, of course, the top bun to complete the burger.

Lemony Cream Cheese Pancakes With Blueberries By Sookie
If you’ve wanted a cake that was both light and custardy, rich and reserved and gave that immediate satisfaction, instead of a griddle cake that you have to stack high and then fill with butter and syrup, Sookie St James' recipe is a win. This recipe does that by using egg whites and cream cheese. Adding maple syrup would be equally delicious as honey or jam. These light, fluffy buttermilk pancakes are infused with the aroma of lemon from both the juice and the zest, but the true magic is in the addition of one essential ingredient–chunks of cream cheese are blended into the batter until they are about pea-sized, which later results in salty, creamy pockets scattered throughout the cooked pancakes. The combination of tart, sweet blueberries, cream cheese, and lemon is delicate but enticing.

Magical Coffee From Luke’s
Does it sound exactly like it? Absolutely. Fans of the show know how important coffee is to both Lorelai and Rory. They cannot survive without it, and in the same way, many of you, too, cannot function without your daily dose of caffeine. They brew the coffee hot, but if you want a cold brew, depending on your preference, there's a lot of space for variety. What distinguishes this coffee is the addition of cinnamon, a brewing method common in Morocco and the Middle East that gives flavour and complexity to even the most basic cup of coffee. The flavours in this are much richer than the sum of their parts when combined with a few tablespoons of dark brown sugar. Nothing will wake you up like the heat in this full-bodied, rich cold brew.

Myrtle’s Meatball From Richard And Emily Gilmore’s Kitchen
Inspired by the scene in which Lorelai and Rory argue over dinner and Richard murmurs, "They always fight when they have spaghetti and meatballs." Or when, after her date, Rory tries to bring home a single meatball, this is for everyone who likes spaghetti and meatballs in general. The meatballs are juicy and flavourful, tiny bombs. The simplicity is the best feature. This recipe is easy to prepare and a great choice for the week.

Lobster Puffs From Richard And Emily Gilmore’s Kitchen
Rory met with Headmaster Charleston in the second episode of season one to discuss her family, past, and future. He told Rory that her grandparents had the best lobster puffs at their home and that he had known them for a very long time. In an attempt to be courteous, Rory carried on talking about lobster puffs, although it's difficult to avoid getting hungry when you think about them. Lobster puffs can be both savoury and sweet, even if they don't sound like simple, light sleepover fare. They can be made by hand in a variety of ways and eaten as a snack in between episodes and reruns.

When Graham and Bledel reunited in September 2025, they presented the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series award at the Emmy Awards and also reminisced about how the show had completed 25 years.
