Did you know the word ‘barfi’ is a derivative of a Hindustani word ‘Barf’ which means ice or snow. Barfi are about the same size and shape as an ice cube, but that does not mean that they are a summer exclusive treat. An Indian fudge, barfi is prepared the same way as ladoos, except they are cut in pieces and allowed to cool so that they obtain their characteristic shape.
