Are you already hooked on Love Scout or do you need convincing? It is one of the shows that not only has high-voltage romance and drama but also visually appealing scenes for Korean food lovers and culinary enthusiasts. If you spend your weekends, holidays, late nights, and working hours scrolling through food reels, the episodes of this K-drama will feel like a therapy session, one after another.
Yoo Eun-ho, played by Lee Jun-hyuk, and Kang Ji-yun, portrayed by Han Ji-min, are the leads. Kang Ji-yun is a headhunter and CEO of a company, while Yoo Eun-Ho is her assistant who ends up taking care of her every need, from catering to her hunger pangs to fixing the door that she often collides with because it needs to be pulled, not pushed.
Food Is Associated With Memory
Everyone knows how food is associated with a memory, good, fun, or bad. A couple of scenes in the show share how a few characters associate a meal with the past. For example, Yoo Eun-ho cooks an elaborate meal because he learns that good food or homemade meals make a person feel better. He started doing this when his daughter was sick and he had to take paternity leave.
Food Making People Happy
There are many scenes shot around table spreads in which colleagues and friends are shown having fun while eating. In one scene, employees of Peoplez went out for a meal. They ordered meat, drinks, and a few snacks. It helped them bond, resolve conflicts, and make everyone go home with a happy heart. In another scene, it was the tablescape created by Yoo Eun-ho that convinced Director Seo Mi-ae, played by Lee Sang Hee, that he would make an exceptional assistant to Kang Ji-yun.

Visually Appealing Food Scenes
Many people, irrespective of whether they can cook or not, spend hours scrolling through recipe reels. The colours, cooking process, and the end product capture attention in a fraction of a second. Love Scout is a K-drama that can leave every foodie drooling. From grilled meat and freshly baked bread to popular Korean foodscape and fiery tteokbokki, all scenes featuring food are visually appealing.
Insight Into Local Korean Food
The best aspect of Love Scout is it does not highlight sophisticated Korean food, but showcases everyday dishes that people eat at their home. Doenjang-jjigae (fermented soybean stew), tteokbokki, ramen, bibimbap, kimchi, and grilled tofu are among the dishes that are promoted on the show. In one of the scenes, Kang Ji-yun takes Yoo Eun-ho to her favourite streetside stall to eat level-five spicy tteokbokki. They even had a conversation regarding how Yoo Eun-ho could not tolerate the heat despite being born and brought up in Korea.

Food Bringing Comfort To Characters
Whether you are sad, feeling low, had a bad day, or just wandering around your house like a zombie, eating good food will instantly uplift your mood. In the fifth episode, Kang Ji-yun arrived with a creamy cake at Yoo Eun-ho’s doorstep. She did not know that the plan around the directors' meeting at her assistant’s house was cancelled. However, when Yoo Eun-ho insisted, she obliged and had a delicious meal prepared by him. It was comforting for her just like the other day when her assistant cooked cheese ramen for her in a small convenience store.
