Viral: This Fruit Dosa In Delhi Has The Internet Divided

Talk of south Indian food and one of the first dishes to strike our mind would be the humble dosa. Loved across the country, dosa too comes in a variety. From a simple Ghee Roast Dosa or a Mysore Masala Dosa, there are just so many dosa recipes to choose from. And well, if these weren't enough, our local street food vendors are never giving up on getting us new versions of it. Remember chocolate dosa? Or the black charcoal dosa from a restaurant in Madurai that surprised its customers recently? This is how street food vendors have been experimenting with the dosa flavours and fillings to treat the tastebuds to something new. And now, a street food vendor in Delhi has come up with a bizarre Masala Dosa with a filling of fruits, taking the internet with a storm. Don’t believe us? Shared on Instagram by @oye.foodieee, the Instagram Reel shows the vendor spreading the dosa batter on a hot pan, he then melts a portion of the whole block of butter over it and spreads evenly. Next he starts to top the batter with a variety of chopped fruits. From apple, banana, grapes to chopped dry fruits, the vendor top the dosa batter with all of this. He then layers the stuffing with some paneer chunks and an assortment of sauces and condiments along with chopped onion and coriander leaves. He covers it and let the masala cook, and then finish it off with a generous sprinkling of cheese and some candied fruits. He folds the dosa, cut into four pieces and serve hot.  

The video has received over 2m views and more than 130k likes. "Ever tried fire fruits dosa," read the caption to the viral fruit dosa video, which is sold at Ayyer Ji Dosa Wale in Geeta Colony in Delhi. While it may look interesting but Instagram users remained divided about the bizarre Fruit dosa. Some users thought it was an interesting recipe and wanted to try it. "Awesome" and "Amazing" wrote several people in comments. Others wondered why the simple dosa was being brutally tampered with in the first place. “Dosa ka naam duba ke rakha hai (dosa is being insulted)” read a comment.
