Try These Hot Smoothies For Cold Mornings

Winter has already marked its attendance, from gajar ka halwa to sarson ka saag, the season of relishing these warm delicacies have come. These finger-licking dishes not only give a cozy hug during the chilly weather but also helps in building immunity and when we talk about winter drinks masala chai, vegetable soups, rasam and haldi doodh are some famous choices in the country. But how about some smoothies on a chilly morning? Yes, you read it right, some hot smoothies to start your day with.  

Basically, smoothies are beverage that has a liquid base usually fruit juice or milk along with yogurt, ice cream or cottage cheese. Fruits, vegetables and crushed ice are also added as toppings or to add flavours. They are mainly summer drinks that provide relief from the hot weather. Several nutrient-rich fruits, veggies and protein powder are also added to make it healthier. They are considered as a potential breakfast that can supply energy to the body for the whole day. 

Here are four hot smoothies to compliment your breakfast during winter: 

1. Malted Coconut Hot Smoothie 

This quick and delicious smoothie is made with the goodness of cocoa and fresh coconut along with hazelnut milk, that gives it a creaminess without being too sweet. The hint of rice malt syrup compliments the drink with its malty flavour along with the topping of grated coconut. 

2. Oaty Chocolate Hot Smoothie 

If you love chocolate milkshake then this smoothie will definitely steal your heart. Made with oats, banana and almond milk along with the goodness of chia seeds, this nutrient-rich smoothie is perfect to fit in your healthy diet. This filling beverage will keep you energized for the whole day. 

3. Hot Green Smoothie 

Ingredients: 

  • 30 g kale 
  • 1 apple (chopped) 
  • 2 dates (chopped) 
  • 1 cup of hot brewed green tea

Method: 

  • Place your kale, apple and dates in your smoothie maker.  
  • Add in a splash of cold water and splash of the green tea. 
  • Blend on high for a minute or two until the dates and kale have been completely incorporated. 
  • Pour the smoothie into a cup and mix in the remaining green tea.

4. Warm Chai Smoothie 

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 cup spinach 
  • 1/2 cup brewed green tea  
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk 
  • 1/2 pear cored and peeled 
  • 1/2 apple cored and peeled 
  • 1 date 
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • 1/4-inch ginger root 
  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom 

Method: 

  • Blend spinach, tea and coconut milk until smooth. 
  • Then add the remaining ingredients.  
  • Allow to blend for 3-5 minutes, or until very hot.  
  • And serve.
