As soon as summer arrives, city microbreweries get busy serving mango craft beer to their dedicated patrons. And creations like this make the season's heat bearable with a sip of chilled mango beer. Well, the alcohol and mango connection doesn't end there. This tropical fruit has become a popular ingredient for making cocktails worldwide. Its sweet and tangy flavour adds a unique taste to any drink. Mango is versatile and can be used in various ways to create delicious cocktails.

One of the most popular mango cocktails is the mango margarita. This drink combines the sweetness of mango with the sourness of lime juice and the kick of tequila. The result is a refreshing and flavorful cocktail perfect for any occasion. Another famous mango cocktail is the mango mojito. This drink combines the sweetness of mango with the freshness of mint leaves and the tanginess of lime juice. The addition of rum gives it a kick that will surely please any cocktail enthusiast.

Ricky Rana, Bar Manager, All Saints, is always thrilled about the mango season. After all, it gives him immense opportunities to craft quirky drinks for the season. To share one of such recipes, he chooses Gunpowder, a tart, boozy libation. 

"Someone said something about spicy, and nothing can beat gunpowder. During the summer, everyone goes crazy about mango cocktails as mango season arrives, so I choose this recipe," says Ricky Rana.

The Gunpowder cocktail is the perfect balance of fruit plus a little something to bring the sunshine to faces. Using fresh mango, Triple Sec, lime juice and an extra special jalapeño muddled to finish things off, it's a fruity glass of joy sure to earn you some brownie points.

 Ingredients

  • Tequila- 60ml
  •  Alphonso mango juice- 60ml
  •  Lime juice - 30ml
  •  Triple sec monnin- 20ml
  •  Jalapeno slices- 3pcs

Method

  • Pour all the ingredients mentioned above, one by one, into a glass or a cocktail shaker, and mix them well. Now pour it into a glass, garnish with raw mango fan, chilli powder and serve.

"Margaritas are a slight obsession of ours- and the spicy mango margarita is no exception! Served icy cold, it's just the right balance of sweet and spicy. And, these refreshing sippable cocktails are always a hit with friends," opines Kuber.

Mango Spiced Margarita

Mango juice is an easy and more budget-friendly way to make "fancy" drinks at home. Finish by rimming the glass with salt and spice, adding chillies or jalapenos, and maybe even a slice of fresh mango if you feel fancy. Garnished or not, these cocktails are a must-make this summer.

Ingredients 

  • Tequila 45ml
  •  Triple sec 15 ml
  •  Fresh mango 15gm
  •  Jalapenos 5gm
  •  Sour mix 10ml
  •  Spice mix 5ml

Method

Transfer all the ingredients into a shaker with lots of ice, shake it well, serve it in a margarita glass rimmed with salt and red chilli and garnish it with mango cubes.
