I came to know about this while talking to a friend who had just returned from a Bihar trip. This Bihar special desi egg devil pakora has also become a thing on the Internet and netizens are totally amused.

A video has also gone viral on social media in which a woman is seen making these desi devil egg pakoras. She has first taken the boiled egg and coated it with the masala of boiled potatoes. Then, she wrapped the stuffing with bread soaked in water and fried it in hot oil. Some people are disgusted by its cooking process while some are eager to taste it. Have a look at the video.

This egg snack has an outer covering of crispy fried bread soaked in water while the inner stuffing is of boiled eggs wrapped into a coat of boiled potato masala. This indeed is damn oily but definitely worth trying. This snack is a common sight in many places in Bihar. Ingredients

  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 green chilies (chopped)
  • Half a ginger (chopped)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp oil + oil to fry
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ garam masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • 4 boiled eggs
  • 6 to 7 bread slices

Method

  • Take potatoes and boil them.
  • When done, mash them properly.
  • Take a pan and add oil
  • Add cumin, green chilies, and onion. Stir it well for a few minutes.
  • Add garlic and tomatoes.
  • Now add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.
  • Mix well and add mashed potatoes.
  • Give everything a good mix and when done, keep it aside to stay cool.
  • Now take a boiled egg and coat it with the potato masala.
  • Take a bread slice and dip it in water
  • Cover the egg stuffing with the soaked bread and squeeze the excess water.
  • Fry these balls in oil until they turn golden brown.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve.
