This 20 Tola Butter Omelette Is The Latest Sensation On The Internet; 2 Basic Recipes To Try

An easy morning quick-fix is eggs, particularly if you are a non-vegetarian. They are easy to make, nutritious and filling. They are a perfect way to kickstart your day and well, you may have heard of “Sunday ho ya Monday roz khao ande” too a number of times. The good part about eggs is that they are so versatile that you can actually make so many dishes out of them. From bhurjis served with paratha to omlette-bread, poached eggs with toast or simply boiled ones, you can have eggs in the morning, in the day and even at night. 

In the last few weeks, we’ve come across a plethora of bizarre trends and food experiments that have left us aghast. Then there have been some which we were tempted to try too. Omlette has been on the radar for quite some time now. After experimenting with a fire omlette, we’ve got a new kid on the block i.e. butter omlette. What’s so amazing, you ask? Well, you can see for yourself.

In the video, the man makes a mixture of eggs with chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt and red chilly powder. He whips up three eggs and then heats his huge tawa. Once hot, he places a huge bar of butter on the tawa and slathers it till it melts. Then he pours in his egg mixture and spreads it on the tawa. Once it is cooked from both sides, he places two slices of bread in the centre of the omlette and wraps it around the bread. He then garnishes it with some more onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves and takes it out on a plate. 

This butter-loaded omlette involves around 200 grams (20 tola) of butter in the cooking process and is being sold at a street cart in Delhi’s Vikaspuri area by Uncle Ande Wala. Shared by @thefoodiehat on his Instagram handle, the video has crossed 2 million views till date.

Up for a cheesy affair right in the morning? Let’s make a cheese-loaded omlette then. Simply whip up the eggs, add in your chopped veggies like onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves and season it. Once it is mixed properly, spread it on the pan and cooked it from both sides. Sprinkle some grated cheese in the center of the omlette and fold it into half. Let the cheese melt for a few seconds and you’ll have your cheesy omlette ready.
