And now that it’s almost time to come back in the bay, Sara has upped her food game making us drool yet again. Sharing a sneak peek into her dessert diaries from Italy, Sara left us slurping as she devoured a yummy treat of Tiramisu. A popular Italian dessert, Sara was indulging in this rich and creamy dessert with a touch of coffee, from a restaurant named La Giostra. Sharing a mouth-watering picture of her indulgence on Instagram Stories, Sara tagged the location of the restaurant. She also added stickers that said ‘Tiramisu’, followed by two more stickers that read ‘more like’ and ‘Killermisu.’

Take a look:

That definitely looks heavenly, doesn’t it? One of the most decadent Italian desserts, Tiramisu is made from a special type of cookie, called lady fingers or savoiardi, that are layered with mascarpone cheese and coffee. As per most legends, the origin of Tiramisu has been credited to Ado Campeol, better known as the ‘Father of Tiramisu’ for the invention. As per the story, Campeol’s restaurant Le Beccherie was the first to ‘accidentally’ invent a decadent concoction of espresso-coated biscuits, topped with mascarpone cheese and finished with cocoa powder. In fact, the word Tiramisu comes from the Treviso dialect, ‘Tireme su’, and in Italian it means ‘pick me up’ which refers to the two primary caffeinated ingredients in the dessert- cocoa and coffee. Interesting. isn’t it?

Tiramisu has now widely gained popularity, not just in Italy but in India too. No wonder celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and Vijay Deverakonda have been seen enjoying the dessert. Aren’t you slurping too? Here’s a super easy recipe for Tiramisu you can try at home too.
