Rum Cocktails Perfect For Winter Evenings

Who said cocktails are not for Winter? All you need to have is RUM. There are some people who love winter because they love the warmth of coffee, tea, or maybe hot chocolate but there are some who know that it’s rum time. Rum is a distilled alcoholic drink made from sugarcane byproducts like molasses or directly from sugarcane juice. People have a norm to switch to rum as the winter comes. Some don't like rum while some swear by it. Which one are you? 

I know it’s bone-chilling cold outside but this shouldn’t stop you from meeting your friends and family. Instead, you should invite your family and friends over and enjoy some winter special rum cocktails. Easy to make, these cocktails are an absolute winter special and will leave you relaxed. Give these cocktails a try and get ready to get warmed up from the inside out.  

Winter Daiquiri 


Ingredients 

  • 1-ounce Cruzan black strap rum 
  • 1-ounce Banks 5 Island rum 
  • 3 ounces of fresh lime juice 
  • 3 ounces simple syrup 
  • Lemon for garnishing 

Method 

  • Take a cocktail shaker and add Banks 5 Island rum, Cruzan black strap rum, lime juice, and simple syrup. Add ice and shake well. 
  • Strain it into a coupe glass and garnish with lemon.  

Hot Buttered Rum 


Ingredients 

  • 2 tsp brown sugar 
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter 
  • 1 drop of vanilla extract 
  • Dash of ground cinnamon 
  • Dash of ground nutmeg 
  • 2 ounces of dark rum 
  • 4 ounces of hot water 
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish 

Method 

  • Take an Irish coffee glass and add sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and dry spices. 
  • Muddle it well and pour in the rum. Add hot water and stir. 
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve.

Ponnje Toddy

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Maka Zai Gold Rum
  • 1 tsp orange marmalade
  • 7.5 ml ginger honey
  • 120 ml earl grey tea
  • Orange and cinnamon for garnish

Method

  • Take a warm goblet and add orange marmalade, Maka Zai Gold Rum, ginger honey, and other spices.
  • Give it a good stir till the marmalade dissolves. 
  • Add warm earl grey tea from the top.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick.

Rum Old Fashioned Cocktail 


Ingredients 

  • 2 ounces dark rum 
  • 1 tsp allspice dram 
  • 1 tsp demerara syrup 
  • 2 dashes bitters 
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters 
  • Orange for garnishing 

Method 

  • Take an old-fashioned glass and place ice cubes into it. 
  • Add rum, allspice dram, demerara syrup, bitters, and stir. 
  • Garnish with orange peel and serve!
