Ranbir Kapoor is definitely on cloud nine these days, as he is all set to become a father. He and his wife, actor Alia Bhatt, announced that they are expecting their first child. Besides that, the couple will be seen together in their next movie, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. The long-awaited Ayan Mukerji directorial is set to finally hit the theatres this September. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy.
As part of the film promotions, Ranbir was in Chennai recently, along with Nagarjuna and SS Rajamouli. And guess what, pictures and videos of him digging into an elaborate South Indian thali have gone viral ever since. A true-blue Punjabi, we know how he’s quite the foodie. But this time around, it wasn’t the usual North Indian feast or simple dal chawal. Instead, he treated himself to a traditional South Indian meal. In Chennai, all three of them received a grand, musical welcome, with a band playing dhol as they arrived at the promotional event. Later, they were served an authentic meal on banana leaves. A video posted on the official Instagram handle of the film showed them enjoying Elai Saapadu.

Elai Saapadu refers to South Indian banana leaf meals that consist of various dishes - including pachadi, thoran, sambar, rasam, and payasam. Ranbir seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the meal, leaving netizens quite impressed.
