Bengaluru sees neighbourhoods like the Mosque Road in Pulikeshi Nagar, Shivajinagar, Johnson Market, and Frazer Town that come alive with food during Ramadan. While the Holy month is characterised by fasting, feasts form an important part of it too. Particularly, one should take note of all the festivities around Frazer Town. For the midnight feast, crowds pour in from all across the city, packing the streets with taste. Famous eateries set up stalls in Frazer Town and fed hungry tourists their favourite treats. This year's fast began from February 17  2026, and will go on till March 18 2026, concluding with a heartfelt farewell on Eid al-Fitr. During iftar, dishes like kebabs and nihari become a fixture at tables, giving those who are fasting much-needed nourishment. Several corners of Bengaluru join in to break the fast during Ramadan as the evening azaan wafts through the air. Here are a few spots to check out if you’re planning to break your fast in Bengaluru during Ramadan 2026:

Chichaba’s Taj

Originally established in Shivajinagar in 1935, ‘Taj Hotel’ served traditional Muslim cuisine. The founder was fondly called ‘Chichaba’, and Chichaba’s Taj was started. The extensive menu includes paya soup, seekh kebab, Chichaba’s mutton and chicken kebabs, mutton chops and nalli nihari. The biryani here is called ‘degh biryani’ and is very popular, as is the phirni from the dessert menu.

Shivajinagar

This district has long been centred around trade, meat stores, spice vendors, and communal kitchens. It was built around marketplaces like Russell Market and is anchored by mosques that have stood here for decades. By 6:30 PM, the pavements have transformed into barbecue stations. Instead of being delicate, seekh kebabs are thick, heavily spiced, and cooked until the edges sear. Haleem is simmered for several hours until the lentils and wheat crumble into the meat. A rarity in Bengaluru, camel meat kebabs are available seasonally at a few booths. MK’s Kebab Centre is renowned for skewers that drizzle grease atop live coal. The original and delicious Alfaham Chicken is served at the Hamza Restaurant.

Pista House

During Ramadan, Pista House sets up, and their Mutton Haleem is nearly shinier and silkier than most. The haleem just melts in your tongue. The mutton dishes, particularly the mutton biriyani, are fantastic. To avoid crowds, usually takeaway is preferred.

Siddique Kabab Centre

Another Pulikeshi Nagar institution, Siddique Kabab Centre, has a one-page menu which features chicken kebab, tandoori kebab, seekh kebab and even Arabian barbecue. Rolls with fillings like chicken tikka are also available. The place doesn’t really have mutton dishes on the menu as the focus is mainly on chicken, even under the Indian-Chinese section.

Banaswadi

It has subtly established a strong Indo-Arabian culinary identity during the past ten years. Ramadan hastened that change. The obvious Middle Eastern influence in the menus is what sets this stretch apart. Serving Mutton Mandi on big platters with flesh falling off the bone and rice prepared in meat stock instead of water, Little Baghdad in Banaswadi places a strong emphasis on authenticity. Instead of being put together from precooked bits, their shawarmas are tightly coiled and sliced from revolving spits. The Nawazish Indo Arabian Restaurant is well-known for its sharing-friendly Roast Mandi and Shadi Ki Biryani, which have delicious rice grains that keep apart.

City Darbar

In Tilak Nagar, it is most renowned for its Bawarchi-style rice dishes that are rich in whole spices and its roast chicken with garlic dip. They have thick, vibrantly coloured hair. Situated near Bilal Masjid, Tilak Nagar has gradually established itself as a Ramadan stronghold. The stretch smells of slow-cooked beef and fried onions by dusk. Here, biryani serves as the backbone, and haleem is typically richer and darker.

Charminar Kebab Paradise

Charminar Kabab Paradise on Tannery Road, serves Caramel Custard that regulars insist on ending their meal with, along with Onion samosas and Chicken chops coated in thick masala. One standout is Murtabak, a stuffed flatbread layered with minced meat and egg, folded and pan-fried until crisp. It is not widely available across Bengaluru outside of specific pockets like this.
