Food and fashion are two words that perfectly describe Masaba Gupta’s personality. While she is well-known for adorning many celebrities in her designs, it is her foodie side that may not be known to all. The designer aces her food cravings just as well as she designs clothes. While there have been times that she has indulged in a cheat meal, this time, it is a healthy drink that has kicked in and is in total sync with the Nutrition week in India that lasts from September 1-September7 this year.

Masaba frequently shares healthy recipes and food ideas that she swears by herself. Her recent morning started with a green drink that she shared on her Instagram stories. It included several greens and looked quite a detox. In the beverage, she mentions, there is kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, mint and parsley. A green and light smoothie seems like her idea of starting the day right.

Each of the ingredients that go into the making of Masaba’s drink are healthy and super nutritious. Kale, for instance, is rich in fiber and antioxidants. Spinach is known for its high iron content as well as benefits it holds for the immune system. Cucumber, mint and celery are summer favourites, that keep one’s stomach and body cool during the sweltering heat. A smooth and thick puree of all these items is what makes a nutrient-rich and cooling concoction.

Earlier too, Masaba has shared healthy ways of eating things. This includes the time when she shared the recipe of avocado pao. A spicy chutney is slathered onto the pao and sliced avocados are packed in it. This is her favourite breakfast treats. In fact, South Indian is one of her top choices in terms of cuisines. A few weeks back, she was gorging on an authentic and healthy Kerala platter.

It comprised of iddiyappams made from red amaranth, along with avial and some stew. Idlis and dosas commonly feature on Masaba’s breakfast table. The inclination towards healthy food doesn’t come as a surprise to us since her mother, Neena Gupta too makes healthy versions of dabeli and chaat-like dishes and shares it on her Instagram.
