If a railway coach restaurant was as creative as the Indian Railways could get according to you, then think again! Following the success spree of opening up restaurants housed in railway coach cars, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. decided to kickstart a fully functioning restaurant housed within a metro coach. Touted to be the first restaurant of its type, the brand new eatery is scheduled to open doors to patrons at the Sector 137 station from 11:30 am to midnight.
The lively restaurant, which aims to offer a fine dining experience within an ambience that is similar to a stationary metro coach, has a range of multi-cuisine dishes, including Kashmiri kebabs and a host of cocktails. Aptly named The Coach – Culinary Express & Bar, the restaurant situated on the Aqua line is due to see its official inauguration this Saturday, April 20. Currently operational on a trial basis with a soft launch done by the NMRC, an agency has been brought on board under a 9-year contract for operations and management.

The newly retired metro coach, which offers itself as a great backdrop against which cosy seating and delicious food is meant to be served, the restaurant will cater to anyone who wishes to stop by for lunch or dinner. Priced affordably, dishes like prawn tempura sushi, phirni rasmalai and quinoa bowls are what’s on offer at this intriguing dining space.
