Fans of Tamil superstars, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan and actress Nayanthara, were treated to a special peek into their Onam celebrations this year as the couple celebrated the festival for the first time with their twin boys Uyir and Ulagam. The couple who have bene dishing out relationship goals since they met tied the knot in Mahabalipuram in June, 2022 welcomed the birth of the two boys four months later.
In the pictures, the family is decked out in the traditional white attire with the twins looking especially festive in matching white dhotis. The shots show the family sitting on the floor to enjoy a traditional sadhya with all the must-have dishes. The practice of eating the sadhya by hand while sitting on the ground is to signify a connection with the earth and the food. Since Onam is a harvest festival, honouring nature’s gifts is a huge part of the celebrations.

In the caption, Vignesh says, “First Onam with my Uyir & Ulagam #GodBless As the festival starts early here ! Wishing everyone in advance a very happy ONAM.” He then followed this up with a romantic picture of him and Nayathara captioned, “In our very simple, beautiful life ! A beautiful, simple moment which feels special ONAM festivities begin here with my Uyirs & Ulagamsss wishing everyone in advance a very happy ONAM.”
The comment section was abuzz with fans talking about how sweet the family looked together and how refreshing it is to see celebrities living normal lives. “Happy onam Happy that uyir and ulag grow up learning and accepting both culture and ethnicity.” says one commenter on the photo with the kids, “So wonderful to see you both with full of love and laughter. They must be enjoying this peaceful family celebration, as recently Nayanthara has been the centre of a lot of buzz around the release of the Atlee film, Jawan on September 7 where she’ll be starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and more.
