Konkona Sen Sharma's South Indian Feast With Tillotamma Shome

Two girlfriends sharing a meal together is a fun way to spend quality time bonding with one another, and actresses Konkona Sen Sharma and Tillotama Shome sure seem to be living it up! The off-screen friends, who worked together most recently on the former’s short film – The Mirror – last year, have been known to bond over films and food when not shooting. In what was a sweet gesture on Shome’s part, she invited the Killer Soup actress over for a spread that was replete with vegetarian South Indian delicacies made by acclaimed chef, Marina Balakrishnan of Oottupura.

The meal – consisting of Keralan classics like aviyal, stew, string hoppers, sambar, green apple chutney, beetroot thoran and payasam – was a feast that was served on banana leaves, in true Kerala fashion. Konkona, who shared a picture of the fabulous meal on her social media, captioned the image of a fully loaded banana leaf saying, “Blessed to eat such nourishing food prepared by @thatthalasserygirl and served with so much love by my dearest friend @tillotamashome.” Shome, who also posted a similar image, labelled each dish that was served on the leaf, expressed her gratitude for Marina, for cooking the colourful feast for the two of them.

Shome also went on to divulge that Konkona brought her flowers as a sweet gesture, and even helped her find space in her refrigerator to store all the leftover food. She also went on to refer to Konkona’s character from her recent series while jokingly admitting to have witnessed Konkona transform into the part, while in the kitchen. “A girlfriend who brings flowers for a dinner date and then gets down on her knees on your kitchen floor to make space for leftovers in your over full fridge. And once she was done, a whole shelf was empty. A PRO, or what they call a WOW these days. Watching Swathy Shetty unleashed in my kitchen making space for @thatthalasserygirl killer food was a micro film in my head,” she said about the experience – using a close-up of her dinner as the background image.
