International Coffee Day: Give Your Daily Mug A Yummy Twist

Coffee lovers, assemble! International Coffee Day is around the corner. The world celebrates this day on October 1 every year, and we think it’s a good time to experiment with your favourite beverage. For its fans, coffee is more than a beverage - it’s a heavenly brew. 

According to many, coffee is a stress-reliever and an energy-booster, while for others, it can be the perfect go-to drink to satisfy their cravings. Everyone has their own reason to sip on coffee, but only a few who really know coffee experiment with its variety and try new coffee-based drinks. 

From the classic latte and cappuccino to cold brew or affogato, there are multiple coffee-based drinks that one can enjoy. And if you are done with the common ones, we suggest you try some innovative coffee that Lavazza India has in store to celebrate International Coffee Day. Try these irresistible recipes by Girish Chandra. 

1. Cold Coffee Cookie Crunch 

Ingredients: 

  • 120 ml milk 
  • 100 ml vanilla ice cream 
  • 60 ml espresso 
  • 20 ml chocolate syrup 
  • 20 ml sugar syrup 
  • 3-4 ice cubes  
  • 1 shot whipped cream  
  • 2 chocolate chip cookies 

Method: 

  • Blend milk, espresso, vanilla ice cream, and ice cubes together in a blender for 30-45 seconds or until smooth. 
  • Take a pilsner glass and pour chocolate syrup in the bottom of the glass, followed by the mixture. 
  • Add 1 shot of whipped cream.  
  • Now take a cookie, break it into two pieces and keep at the top of the glass. 

2. Cappuccino With Flavours

Ingredients 

  • 120 ml milk 
  • 30 ml Espresso 
  • Caramel sauce/chocolate syrup 
  • 15 ml vanilla syrup 

Method 

  • Take a preheated cappuccino cup. 
  • Make a fresh cappuccino, put caramel sauce and vanilla syrup on the top of coffee.  


3. Swiss Hot Chocolate

Ingredients: 

  • 200 ml milk  
  • 5 gm (2 sachets) chocolate powder 
  • 20 ml chocolate syrup 

Method 

  • Take a milk steamer, add 2 sachet chocolate powder, milk, and chocolate syrup. 
  • Steam all together up to 90 degrees, and pour into Kenyan mug. 

4. Flavour Frappe 

Ingredients: 

  • 150 ml milk  
  • 60 ml espresso  
  • 200 ml vanilla ice cream  
  • 20 ml hazelnut  
  • 20 ml chocolate syrup 
  • Chocolate chips, to garnish 

Method 

  • Mix together milk, espresso, and vanilla ice cream in a blender for 30-40 seconds, or until smooth. 
  • Take pilsner glass and glaze it with chocolate syrup.  
  • Add flavours to it and pour mixture into it. 
  • Garnish with chocolate chips.
