You would probably agree that there’s no dearth of bizarre trends on social media, be it fashion or food. But when the two combine, it is a different ball game altogether. In fashion, we have seen many unique outfits on the internet grabbing eyeballs. Remember when last year, a French designer created a bag in the shape of a leaf that intrigued the internet? And when sneakers in the shape of sandwiches went viral? Well, now in the latest such bizarre trend, another new pair of sneakers has created waves on the internet - not for its shape but for its content. Beer brand Heineken has launched a new pair of sneakers, called ‘Heinekicks’, which comes with beer filled inside them. Yes, you read that right. Don't believe us? Take a look yourself:

The beer brand, in collaboration with shoe designer Dominic Ciambrone, launched the customised sneaker collection. The limited-edition sneakers come with beer injected into the transparent sole of the sneakers, which is then clearly visible. The trademark green and red colours of the beer brand have been used in the design. But that’s not it. The top of the sneaker also comes with an in-built bottle opener which you can use to pop open your beer cans.

They released an official statement launching the sneaker, saying, “Designed in collaboration with noted shoe designer, Dominic Ciambrone, to celebrate the smoothness of Heineken Silver. Heinekicks aren’t your everyday shoe, but it’s not every day you get to walk on beer.” Well, with International Beer Day just around the corner (August 5), there couldn’t have been a better time to launch such an innovative concept, don’t you think?

Netizens definitely agree, as Twitter users expressed how they loved the idea of beer-filled sneakers. The bizarre fashion statement has garnered many reactions on the micro-blogging platform. “I’ll get a pair just to have it,” wrote one user, while another said, “10/10 would wear!” Take a look at the reactions to the bizarre sneakers.

It is not the only bizarre fashion item that has gone viral in the past. Luxury fashion house Prada had earlier launched a yellow sweater with holes that reminded Twitter of swiss cheese. What do you have to say about these beer sneakers? Will you buy it? Let us know.
