Dairy products are almost consumed by each household in one form, like milk, paneer, ghee, etc. And they make as an essential in every kitchen. Do you know they are also advised to be consumed from a health point of view? Due to its short shelf life, we tend to buy it in small quantities. For example, if you do not use boiled milk for a day, it spoils. Likewise, preserving the freshness of other dairy products for a prolonged period is a challenging task. We all know that dairy products should be stored in the fridge, but the method is significant here. If you keep them properly, you can maintain their freshness for a long time.

Paneer

  1. An easy way to keep paneer fresh for a long time is to use blotting paper. You can wrap it in blotting paper and then keep it in the fridge. 
  2. Apart from this, you can also cover the paneer in a wet muslin cloth before keeping it in the refrigerator. Then, however, moisten the damp cloth every 4 to 5 hours as the fridge steals away the moisture from the surface of the cheese. 
  3. Not only this, if you want, with the help of just water, you can also keep the paneer fresh. For this, you should immerse the paneer in a bowl of water and keep it in the fridge. But do not fail to change the water daily and make sure that the paneer is wholly submerged.

Milk

Milk is used in every household. However, it is a dairy product that spoils very quickly. Therefore, before buying milk, definitely check its expiry date on the packet.

  1. The most acceptable method to preserve milk is to store it in the refrigerator and use the pack you bought earlier by boiling it first. 
  2. You also need to cool the boiled milk and store it in the fridge. 
  3. Always use a clean and washed vessel to boil milk, reducing the chances of spoiling. 
  4. Also, protect milk from exposure, as light destroys some minerals, especially vitamin D.

Ghee

Ghee is recommended to be consumed for good health. However, the benefit of this dairy product is that you can preserve it even at room temperature for a long time. All you need is to keep it in an airtight receptacle.

  1. Also, while extracting ghee, keep in mind that you should always use a clean and dry spoon. 
  2. Also, keep the jar of ghee away from UV rays, as it can spoil the ghee. 
  3. If you want, you can retain its freshness by storing ghee in the fridge for about six months.
