Ingredients:

  • Potatoes: 500g
  • Cornflour: 3-4 tablespoons
  • All-purpose flour: 1-2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil: for frying
  • Garlic: 4-5 cloves, finely chopped
  • Green chillies: 2-3, finely chopped
  • Onion: 1, chopped
  • Capsicum: 1, chopped
  • Tomato sauce: 2 tablespoons
  • Chilli sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • Honey: 2 tablespoons
  • Vinegar: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: ½ cup

Method:

  • Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin slices or long strips. Soak the potatoes in water for 10-15 minutes to remove the excess starch. Drain the water and pat dry the potatoes using a kitchen towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cornflour, all-purpose flour, and salt. Add water gradually and make a smooth batter.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Dip the potato slices in the batter and fry them in hot oil until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the fried potatoes using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
