Herbal Remedies To Cure Common Infections

Every season has its unique beauty. But they also bring in a set of health issues. Monsoons have a limited number of bacteria and viruses that survive, while summer, as well as winter, spring, and fall, have entirely new populations. People with weak immune systems are more prone to contracting some common infections throughout the year. Young children, elderly people, those with comorbid illnesses, and those who are congenitally ill are the groups of people to be on the lookout for.

India is known as the origin of Ayurveda and Yoga. Indians trust in the time-honoured, tried-and-true home cures of their grandmothers, unlike the majority of westerners who love to visit a doctor at the drop of a hat. It's crucial to realise that when one is unwell, one should go to a doctor or physician. However, since we live in an area where herbs and spices are abundant, there is no danger in utilising them to either prevent or treat any common illnesses or infections. The common health problems that can be treated at home are listed in this article.

Cough, cold and sore throat

The respiratory system is the first to suffer from a weather change. The most typical illnesses are colds with a stuffy or a running nose. A sore throat and cough, which may be dry or phlegm-filled, are other symptoms. Some herbal treatments for typical respiratory tract infections include ginger, holy basil, also known as tulsi, black pepper, and honey. The much-needed relief could be obtained by steeping all or some of the ingredients in a glass of warm water. For a cold or sore throat, one can also consume a potent black tea or ginger tea.

A teaspoon of honey combined with black pepper or dry ginger powder can be used to reduce coughing. You can steep half a teaspoon of fresh turmeric paste in milk. If taken warm at night, this golden magic helps induce sleep, which is otherwise prevented by a stuffy nose or cough. The traditional "haldi doodh" that the grandmothers believed in is the new-age turmeric latte. Eucalyptus oil can be applied to the forehead and chest to relieve a stuffy nose.

Fever

The body's defence mechanisms are engaged in a battle with a foreign substance like a virus or bacteria when a fever develops. Typically, a viral fever requires 5-7 days to fully recover. But during those 5-7 days, a person experiences discomfort and is unable to perform daily tasks. Additionally, physical soreness, appetite loss, nausea, and headache are symptoms of fever. Fever can be treated with ginger, giloy, neem, tulsi, black pepper, and coriander seeds.

Giloy is a tree branch that is bitter. The branch is cleaned, divided into small sticks, and placed in boiling water. The boiling and strained water's antibacterial characteristics aid in the treatment of fevers. Neem leaves can be used in a similar manner. You can get headache and nausea relief by combining tulsi, ginger, and black pepper. Coriander seeds boiled in water and then consumed might lessen nausea and appetite loss. Grapes offer cooling qualities. Black cumin, fennel seeds, and grapes can all be juiced together. This beverage successfully reduces fever.

Headache

There are numerous causes of headaches. The most typical ones are stress and migraine. Water is a tried-and-true remedy for headache prevention. Steeped cumin seeds in water are effective. It is the body's way of letting you know that it hasn't had enough water. An apple in the morning also provides comfort. Another option is to drink a herbal tea infused with chamomile or peppermint. Additionally, lavender oil applied to the sides of the forehead provides relief.

Any tooth and gum infection may be the cause of a toothache. The finest buddies for gleaming whites are cloves. Clove oil and clove chewing both provide much-needed relief. The leaves of the guava tree are also edible. They have pain-relieving antibacterial effects.

Acidity  gastroenteritis, indigestion and diarrhoea

By drinking lots of lemon water to flush out the toxins, the majority of digestive system-related problems can be resolved. Other stomach problems, including diarrhoea, can be alleviated by consuming fennel or carom seeds. Chewing some green cardamom, cinnamon, or mint leaves is beneficial. For diarrhoea, coconut water is a go-to remedy.

What appears to be a harmless cough and fever may not actually be so, as the pandemic has taught us. It is crucial to look for the symptoms and see a doctor or physician if anything seems out of the ordinary. Despite this, it is important to understand that herbs are safe and natural. They can serve as immune system boosters, preventative treatments, and therapeutic drugs.
