Got Friends Coming Over? Try These Air Fried Buffalo Wings

When I first heard the term buffalo wings, I couldn’t help but picture a large cow fluttering around on dainty butterfly-esque appendages. But of course, the true iteration of buffalo wings are a lot less fantastical, but a whole lot more delicious. The name comes from Buffalo, New York, where the dish was created in 1964. Yes, in the food world, they’re still relatively young. But that hasn’t impeded their popularity in any way, with Buffalo Wings being a must-have on any bar menu and one of the USA’s favourite chicken wing  

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • ½ tbsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 80 g hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter melted
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Oil or cooking spray

Method:

  • Season chicken wings with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. 
  • Air fry them for 10 minutes at 170°C. 
  • Flip the wings over and air fry them for 10 more minutes. 
  • Turn up the heat to 190°C and cook the wings for 6 more minutes.

  • While the chicken is finishing cooking, whisk together the hot sauce, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Remove chicken wings from the air fryer basket and place them into a large mixing bowl. Pour sauce over the top and toss to coat.
  • Serve alongside your favourite dipping sauce and enjoy!
