Google CEO Sundar Pichai Approves GI Tagged Bharat Coffee

At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was spotted trying out Indian GI coffee at Bharat GI Coffee Lounge in Bharat Mandapam. The India AI summit is an initiative which seeks to promote Geographical Indication (GI) products from India. In the video, Pichai is seen taking a sip of the monsoon malabar Arabica blend and saying ‘wow,’ indicating his appreciation of the Bharat GI coffee.

Following Pichai’s coffee tasting experience, Union Minister Of Commerce And Industry took to X saying, “When @SundarPichai drops by for a sip, you know it’s truly worth it! The world is raising a cup to Bharat GI Coffee at #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026.” The event will be underway at the Bharat GI Coffee Lounge from February 17 to February 20.

Bharat GI Coffee At The Summit

The Bharat GI coffee was introduced to attendees at the 2026 AI Impact Summit by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) as part of an initiative which attempts to showcase the Indian GI brand to the world. At the summit, this new initiative locates GI products as ‘A World Exclusive’ in a bid to give them international recognition and a premium positioning.

In line with this aim, the Union Minister emphasised that India’s GI products carry “centuries of skill, community knowledge and geography.” The DPIIT takes this legacy global, beginning with the Indian GI coffee which opens up the world to India’s authenticity, aromas and flavours.

Situated in Hall 14 of the Bharat Mandapam, Bharat GI is part of the India AI Impact Summit which is running alongside the India AI Impact Expo 2026. Bharat GI is set up with the aim of promoting India’s products such as coffee, spices, handicrafts and textiles which carry the distinct heritage, geography and skills of their respective regions. Bharat GI seeks to give these products global recognition, a program that kicks off with the Indian GI coffee.
