Flavourful Paneer Lababdar Without Onion And Garlic

Colourful and delicious, Paneer Lababdar is a classic dish which has the heart of all the Indians. Prepared with day-to-day ingredients, this recipe has amazing flavours and taste. It’s a red gravy North Indian recipe which can be prepared with or without onion and garlic as per your taste. Here, it is prepared without using onion or garlic. 

Paneer Lababdar recipe can be prepared within minutes. You can always prepare it when in hurry and serve it immediately. It is one of the easiest and most satisfying paneer recipes. The recipe is rich and creamy and has balanced flavours. You can always serve it for lunch or dinner. Here’s the recipe for how to prepare it at home.

Ingredients:

For The Gravy:

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Melon Seeds 
  • 12 Whole Cashews
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1 Green Chilli, chopped 
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp red Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ cup of Water
  • For The Paneer Lababdar:

Prepared gravy

  • 300 – 350 grams Paneer or Homemade Paneer, cut into cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Sugar 
  • ⅓ cup Milk 
  • 1 tsp Kasoori Methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Coriander Leaves, chopped 

Method:

  • Take a non-stick pan and put oil in it. Heat the pan on a medium flame and then put melon seeds and cashews
  • Stir them for a few minutes on a medium flame. Next, include chopped tomatoes and green chilli. Mix all the ingredients properly
  • Include turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and Garam Masala in the pan. Mix them again and include ½ cup of water
  • Next, keep cooking the tomato mixture until tomatoes become soft and pulpy. Once cooked, turn off the flame and let the mixture cool down for sometime
  • Now, put this mixture in a blender jar and grind it to form a smooth puree
  • It’s time to heat this gravy in a pan and continue cooking until it comes to a boil. Once boiled, add paneer cubes and salt as per your taste in this gravy. Now, cook it again for a couple of minutes
  • Include sugar, dried fenugreek leaves, and milk in the pan. Mix all the ingredients and cook for 1-2 minutes 
  • Once cooked, turn off the flame and garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Finally, delicious Paneer Lababdar without onion and garlic is ready to serve hot

Important Points to Note:

  • You can make this dish without cashews as well. Cashews are used to bring thickness to the gravy
  • You can also add cream to the recipe. It brings volume, creaminess, and thickness to the gravy
  • Sugar enhances the flavour of this recipe and does not make it sweet. So, you can add a little amount of sugar to bring in more flavours
