Easy Banana Dessert Recipes That'll Lighten Up Your Day

Bananas are one of the go-to fruits of people. It is easy to eat unlike pomegranate and pineapple just peel it and eat. They are packed with nutrition and are easily available in the market. Bananas are believed to be one of the world’s oldest fruits and are often considered a mood swing preventer as they contain the amino acid, tryptophan, and vitamin B6. Apart from making shakes, bananas can also be used to make tasty dishes including snacks and desserts like chips, shake, pudding, fritters, and so on. Here are 3 quick banana dessert recipes.  

Banana Burfi 

Ingredients: 

  •  4-5 ripe large bananas 
  •  2 tbsp ghee 
  • 1 1/2 cups milk 
  • 1 cup sugar 
  •  1 cup grated coconut 
  •  1/4 tsp small cardamom powder 
  •  1/2 cup walnut kernels (finely chopped) 
  •  2 tbsp chopped almonds, cashew, and walnuts (for garnishing) 

 Method: 

  • Peel the banana and mash it well. 
  • Then put the mashed banana and milk mixed in a deep vessel on the gas for cooking.  When all the milk dries up, switch off the gas. 
  • Put ghee in another vessel and heat it, put the mixture of banana and milk in the hot ghee and fry it while stirring continuously. 
  • When the mixture turns brown, add sugar, grated coconut, walnut kernels and cardamom powder and fry till it dries. 
  • Grease a plate with ghee, then pour the mixture in it and spread the same in half inch-thin layer. 
  • Garnish with chopped walnuts, cashew, and almonds and after it cools down, cut into burfi-sized pieces. 

Banana Halwa (Kelyacho Halvo) 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 4 cloves 
  • 6 teaspoons sugar 
  • 3 tsp ghee 
  • 3-4 cardamom pods peeled and crushed 
  • 2 cups water 

Method: 

  • Firstly, cut and slice the banana and crush the cardamom. 
  • Now put 2 cups of water in a pan and bring it to a boil on medium heat. Also, while boiling water, add sugar and keep stirring it in between. 
  • Now add ghee and cloves to it and let it cook for a minute or two. 
  • Next, add the banana pieces and stir. 
  • After this you cover the pan with the lid and boil for 25-30 minutes. 
  • Now, add crushed cardamom to it and cook for a minute or two and serve it hot. 

Banana Pancake 

Ingredients:

  • 1Banana 
  • 3/4 cup (100 grams) All-purpose flour 
  • 1/3 cup (50 grams) Wheat flour 
  • 2 tsp Sugar powder 
  •  2 tsp Salt  
  • 4 (coarsely crushed) Cardamom 
  • 1.5 tsp Baking Powder 
  • 4-5 tbsp Ghee 
  • 1 cup Milk 

 Method: 

  • To make Banana Pan Cake, take out all the flour in a big bowl, add wheat flour, sugar, salt, cardamom powder, and baking powder and mix all the things well. 
  • Peel the banana and cut it into small pieces and mash it well with the help of a spoon.  (Banana can also be mashed with milk by putting it in a mixer) 
  • After the banana is mashed well, add milk to it and add the flour, flour mixture to this mixture and mix it until it mixes well.  The solution has to be mixed until the lumps are removed and it becomes smooth. 
  • Add 2 teaspoons of ghee to the batter and mix and keep it for 15 minutes. 
  • To make pancake, put a nonstick tawa on the gas, heat it and spread some ghee on the tawa, spread it all around, the gas is low and the tawa is slightly hot, take 1 tablespoon of the batter and put it on the pan and with the help of a spoon spread the pancakes lightly. Pour a little ghee around the pancake with a spoon and pour a little ghee over the pancake.  Let the pancakes cook on medium flame till they turn light brown from the bottom. 
  • When the bottom side of the pancake is light brown, turn it over and roast it till it turns golden brown from the other side as well.  
  • After it is roasted from both sides, take out the pancake from the pan and take it out on a plate. Similarly, prepare all the pancakes.  With this much batter, about 10-12 pancakes are ready. 
  • Eat it with jam, butter or honey.  You can also serve this pancake with sour pickle, it tastes good.  Give a glass of milk to the children along with it, it will be a delicious breakfast for them.
