Isn’t it better to reuse leftover food differently rather than throwing it away? But it is generally seen that leftover roti, vegetable, dal or salad is disposed of the very next day or the same day. So it is better to experiment with it rather than wasting food like this, don’t you think? So today, we bring you some exciting recipes that can be quickly rustled up using a leftover salad. 

Cutlets

Ingredients:

  1. Leftover salad - 2 cups
  2. Black pepper powder - 1/3 teaspoon
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Garam masala - 1/3 teaspoon
  5. Bread powder - 1/4 cup
  6. Salt - according to taste
  7. Boiled potatoes - 3
  8. Gram flour - 2 tsp
  9. Oil - 1 cup

Method:

  1. First, after heating oil in a pan, put the salad and cook it for some time.
  2. Then, after 2 minutes, add turmeric powder, garam masala and chilli powder to the salad and cook for some time.
  3. Then, add boiled potatoes, gram flour and salt; mash it well.
  4. Next, add bread powder to it and shape it like cutlets.
  5. Now heat oil and fry the cutlets in a pan till golden brown.

Paratha

Ingredients:

  1. Leftover salad - 1 cup
  2. Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
  3. Mango powder - 1/2 tsp
  4. Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  5. Salt - according to taste
  6. Coriander leaves - 1 tsp
  7. Wheat flour - 2 cups
  8. Ghee - 2 tsp

Method:

  1. First, make a dough by adding ghee, light salt, water to the wheat flour and keep it aside for some time.
  2. Now, chop the salad finely, add cumin powder, salt and coriander leaves; mix it well.
  3. Make a dough ball, fill it in the mixed salad and roll it in the shape of a roti.
  4. Heat ghee and fry the parathas well till they become golden.

Soup

Ingredients:

  1. Leftover salad - 1 cup
  2. Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  3. Black salt - 1/4 tsp
  4. Mint leaves - 5-6
  5. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  6. Water - 2 cups
  7. Oil - 1 tsp

Method:

  1. In a pan, heat oil to make the soup.
  2. After the oil is heated, add the remaining salad, black salt, cumin and a cup of water to the pan and cook for about seven minutes.
  3. Please turn off the gas and leave it to cool down for some time.
  4. After cooling, please put it in the mixer, grind it well and take it out in a vessel.
  5. Serve the soup by putting mint leaves with black pepper powder on top.
