The Punjabi singer gives a desi spin to this Middle-Eastern dish, and it is hilarious
While there are many foodies in Bollywood, a few of them actually cook too, and Diljit Dosanjh is one among them. The popular Punjabi singer has managed to charm his way not just through movies but his cooking skills too. The singer-cum-actor took to his kitchen recently to cook a delectable Shakshuka and we aren’t surprised. Seems like one more dish has been added to his food chronicles.
The singer shared glimpses of his cooking adventures on his Instagram stories recently. It was not just a tasty treat but a hilarious take on the Middle-Eastern dish too. Shakshuka, for the uninitiated, is a combination of poached eggs, tomatoes, onions, peppers and olive oil. This dish is commonly eaten for breakfast in the region and has been picked up by other countries too. Diljit also decided to make Shakshuka at home this weekend.
He posted a series of videos, showcasing the steps of making the dish. Funnily enough, he referred to the dish as ‘Shak chuka’ during his commentary. He diced some tomatoes and tossed them in oil in a pan. While they were being cooked with the lid covered, he prepared the eggs. He takes the tray of eggs and comments on how there are two white eggs amongst the brown ones. Then he breaks the eggs and cooks the dish. While he didn’t show us the final outcome, we’re pretty sure he made a delicious Shakshuka, or rather ‘Shak chuka’, for himself.
This isn’t the first time that the singer has entered the kitchen to make something. During the lockdown, his cooking experiments took the Internet by storm and each day, he would come up with a new dish and a fun commentary while making it that was enjoyed by several people. Wondering what he’d be making next though.
