Delicious Coconut-Based Dishes Your Kids Will Love

Today, we’ll share some of the best recipes prepared from coconut that, for sure, will please your little ones. These dishes are easy to make at home and will not take much time to prepare. So, let’s dig into some of these recipes.

Coconut Rice

Ingredients:

  1. Onion - 1/2 finely chopped
  2. Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
  3. Tomato - 1 /2 chopped
  4. Asafoetida - a pinch
  5. Black pepper - 1 tsp
  6. Curry leaves - 2 tsp
  7. Basmati rice - 1 cup
  8. Mustard - 1 tsp
  9. Cashew - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste

Method:

  1. First, soak the rice, boil it, drain the excess water and keep it in a vessel.
  2. Next, heat oil, add mustard seeds, onions, tomatoes, and curry leaves in a pan to temper.
  3. After a while, add asafoetida, salt, cashew and coconut in the tempering; then, cook it for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Add boiled rice to this mixture; turn off the gas after about 5 to 6 minutes of cooking.
  5. Tasty coconut rice is ready to serve.

Coconut Pudding

Ingredients:

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Sugar powder - 1 cup 
  3. Raw coconut - 1 cup
  4. Almond - 2 tsp
  5. Cashew - 1 tsp
  6. Raisin - 1 tsp
  7. Milk - 1 litre

Method:

  1. First, grate a coconut and keep it in a vessel.
  2. Next, boilNext, boil milk and add the grated coconut to it.
  3. Now, cook it well (on low flame) and stir occasionally.
  4. Next, add sugar and cardamom powder and cook it more time.
  5. After about 5 minutes, add the other ingredients, cook it for some time, and turn off the gas.

Ingredients:

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Coconut - 1 cup grated
  3. Sugar - 1/3 cup

Method:

  1. First, prepare sugar syrup in a pan.
  2. While making the syrup, keep stirring in between.
  3. Next, add grated coconut and cook when the syrup is ready.
  4. After about five minutes, add cardamom powder, cook it and turn off the gas.
  5. Now cut it into the shape of a barfi.
