Athiya Shetty may be only a few movies old, but her fanfare is proof of how relatable she is to the audience. The Mubarakan actor is constantly sharing updates on her Instagram stories, giving us a glimpse of the foodie side to her personality.
Recently, she was at a Japanese eatery, called Sushi Hub, and was having a gala time with her friend. She posted pictures from her feast in her stories and left us drooling. From her posts, we gathered that she started off with some latte and then moved on to some roses de sables. For the unversed, it is a sweet treat, made of chocolate, butter and cornflakes and shaped like roses. It literally translates to ‘roses of the sand’.
On this, she wrote, “happy tummy”, and given the sweet tooth that she has, it is quite natural that this cocoa delicacy made her super happy. Next up, we saw her friend posing with a glass of matcha drink. In the post, she wrote, “Matcha queeenn”, with a green heart emoji and tagged @rajal_arora. For the uninitiated, matcha is a finely ground powder of green tea leaves, used in several Asian cuisines for desserts and drinks.
Finally, we saw what we’d been waiting for, sashimi. It is a Japanese delicacy that is made using thin slices of raw fish or meat. This is usually paired with soy sauce and unlike sushi, it doesn’t come packed with vinegared rice and other fillings. Garnished with thin strands of beetroot, sashimi looks quite tempting. On the plate, one could spot the words “Sushi Hub”, which we assume is the name of the restaurant she was dining at.
Earlier too, we had seen Athiya relished Nikkei cuisine at a fusion eatery in Mumbai. This cuisine combines Peruvian flavours with Japanese cooking techniques and there too, the actor tried some exotic dishes that looked drool-worthy.
