Young, middle, and old age are the three stages of life defined in the classical Ayurvedic scriptures. These can be described as the young (Kapha stage), the middle (pitta stage), and the old (Vata stage) stages of life (old age). Likewise, one of the three doshas, or biological-elemental substances, is Vata. It supports the body-mind complex's operations by collaborating with pitta and kapha. Vata, a substanceless form made out of space and wind, controls all bodily motions. According to the ancient Ayurvedic scripture, Charaka Samhita, the Vata stage of life, which begins at 50 or 60, is our final phase.
The following suggestions will help you apply Ayurveda to your life as you progress through the Vata stage.
Use oil
In accordance with Ayurveda, we should use oil for our bodies and our diet. Brahmi-coconut oil can be used both topically and in cooking. Brahmi improves cognitive clarity. So, try cooking your food with virgin coconut oil.
Hydration matters

Ensure to drink at least six to eight glasses of clean drinking water daily. According to classical texts, more water is advised at this stage of life. It is due to the dryness that prevails at this stage.
Rely on freshly cooked food

Eat more prepared food. As we age, we must embrace prepared foods since we become colder and drier. These produce the most internal heat. Pick out stews, soups, and roasted or steamed vegetables. Ghee should be included in the recipe. You can drizzle it over the khichdi and rice.
Lunch, the mega meal

Ayurveda states that your lunch should be the biggest meal of the day. If you don't have a nine-to-five job, it is simpler. You can digest more slowly in this manner than you can at night. A substantial meal gives you energy for the afternoon. After eating, spend 10 minutes lying on your left side. Then, walk for 15 minutes to further improve digestion.
Wish you healthy ageing!
