* Coriander

To grow coriander in your little kitchen garden, you have to sow the seeds of coriander in late summer or even during the onset of monsoon. During winter months, you will see that you have a bounty full of fresh coriander leaves. Just make sure that you provide coriander leaves with some shady spots and then regularly cut the leaves as they will keep falling off if you don't use them timely. By regularly cutting the leaves you can also extend the growth of the plant.

* Basil

Basil is a herb that loves sunshine and warmth. The proper way of growing basil in your kitchen garden is by finding a perfect sunny spot for it. It doesn't require a lot of water so you can just water a little bit during the morning. Never water a basil plant in the night as the plan doesn't like having wet roots during the night time. It can be easily found in a container that is full of multipurpose compost. Also, make sure that the soil is a free draining soil. The ideal time for mint to thrive is during the warm and sunny season which is summer. But mint can also be sustained even if it receives the minimum amount of sunlight. Mint is not at all a high-maintenance herb, and it can sustain itself even if you give it a little water every day or even keep on giving water for a long amount of time. The right way to plant your mint herb is by taking a 5 L pot and filling it with a good amount of natural compost. You have to take care of the plant by making sure that it remains in a sunny spot. The plant will give you a lot of fresh leaves if you take good care of it.

* Curry Leaves

Curry leaves are a very important herb, especially in South Indian cuisine. Most of the dishes in the South, Indian cuisine are incomplete without the use of curry leaves. It imparts a very aromatic and different flavour to all the dishes. Curry leaves thrive during hot and humid temperatures which is why it is abundantly available in the Southern part of India which is comparatively a lot more humid than the rest of the country. Make sure that you plant your curry leaves in a big container as it doesn't remain a small herb for a long time. Over time it can grow into a small plant and you will have to make space for it.

* Oregano

Oregano is a very famous herb in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. The process of growing oregano in your kitchen is quite simple because it can grow even in small containers. Make sure that the herb has enough sunlight and also a well drained soil. The robust flavour of oregano can be used to prepare so many different dishes like pizza, pasta, soups, and even sandwiches.
