3 Recipes To Make Your Cornflakes More Delicious

Mornings are always jam-packed for everyone, from a school-going child to a working person. Getting up in the morning and reaching school and the office at right time has always been a challenge. Most of us often miss our breakfast or try to have something easy and quick. But breakfast is an essential meal and needs to be healthy, to keep us energetic throughout the day. And when we talk about easy, quick and healthy breakfast, cornflakes and milk is one of the top choices in many households. 

Cornflakes are made from toasting flakes of maize and was created in 1894, by Will Kellogg for the patients of Battle Creek Sanitarium, where he worked with his brother. Slowly, the cereal gained popularity and people, all over the world, started consuming it for breakfast along with milk. The delicious breakfast is so easy to make and has got several nutritional benefits. It is rich in protein and minerals and helps in keeping the eyes and heart healthy. 

But do you know this simple breakfast can be turned into more delicious recipes? Here are three easy and delicious recipes that you can make with your cornflakes:

1. Cornflakes Ladoos

 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cornflakes
  • 3/4 cup jaggery
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp ghee

Method:

  • Take cornflakes in a bowl and crush them slightly with your fingertips.
  • Boil jaggery with water until it dissolves completely then strain it.
  • Add the strained jaggery to the pan and let it boil until the syrup becomes thick.
  • Then add cornflakes, ghee, and cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and grease your palms with ghee, Shape them into small balls.

And cornflakes ladoo is ready. 

2. Cornflakes Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups corn flakes

Method:

  • In a large saucepan, add sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter. 
  • Cook them over medium heat until it starts to boil, and don’t forget to continue stirring.
  • As soon as the sugar mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and corn flakes.
  • Drop the mixture in cookies shape into butter paper before the mixture starts to cool and harden.
  • Let it cool for 20 to 30 minutes and enjoy your healthy cookies.

3. Corn Flakes Crumbed Paneer

Ingredients:

  • 50 gm corn flakes (crushed)
  • 100 gm paneer (thin sliced)
  • 30 gm maida
  • 1 egg

For Marination:

  • ¼ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ cup chopped coriander

Method:

  • Marinate paneer with the mentioned ingredients for ten minutes.
  • Then make a batter with egg and refined flour.
  • Dip the paneer in the batter and coat it with the corn flakes.
  •  Deep fry in medium heat oil till it turns crispy.

And serve hot with tomato ketchup.
