There are many versions of this old-fashioned casserole. Mine offers a little more zip due to the thyme and lemon peel. It’s a nice way to use up those turkey leftovers.
1 teaspoon Tablespoon minced fresh thyme or 1 dried thyme
2 Bay leaves
1 Garlic clove, minced
2 teaspoon Grated lemon zest
0.25 cup Butter, cubed
0.25 cup All purpose flour
2 cup Chicken Broth
1 cup Milk
1 Large egg yolk, lightly beaten
4 cup Cubed cooked turkey
As required Salt and pepper
0.33333333333333326 cup Dry Bread Crumbs
0.33333333333333326 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
0.5 cup Sliced almonds, toasted
