Delhi has seen a boom in boutique coffee companies in the last few years. These companies produce coffee that’s good enough to compete with big chains like Starbucks (maybe even better) and have become an important part of the city’s food and drink landscape. Blue Tokai may have started the trend, but other worthy brands have followed. From coffee beans to bottled cold coffee, here are four brands that deliver coffee across the country:
Blue Tokai Coffee
Blue Tokai started off as a small cafe in Saidulajab but now has outlets across Delhi and NCR. Back when it started, the brand became Instagram-famous, with its striking logo and blue and brown packaging. Packs of Blue Tokai’s coffee make thoughtful gifts for coffee lovers who like to brew at home. They are especially known for their cold brew coffees, which come in cans and also as bags meant to be infused.
Quick Brown Fox Coffee Roasters
With estates in Chikmagalur and Vellakadai, Quick Brown Fox supplies coffee to drinkers in India and also abroad. The brand follows SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) protocols and takes pride in being independent. Quick Brown Fox has a cafe in Chattarpur, which specialises in both hot and cold coffee and snacks. Their logo was probably the first attention-grabbing one after Blue Tokai. They ship across India for free.
Sleepy Owl Coffee
Sleepy Owl Coffee specialises in instant and ready-to-drink coffee. Their ready-to-drink cold coffee is made with their signature cold brews, milk and sugar, and comes in flavours like classic, hazelnut, mocha, salted caramel and vanilla. Unlike the first two, Sleepy Owl doesn’t have a cafe and is primarily a delivery service. Order a few bottles of their flavoured cold coffee as a gift to lift a friend’s spirits during the summer.
Bili Hu Coffees
In Kannada, ‘bili hu’ is a white flower signifying coffee blossom. Although the brand doesn’t have a cafe, they do have a store in Noida where you can buy their coffee. They also deliver across the country. Bili Hu has collaborated with several hotels and restaurants to bring diners their specialty coffee. These include The Taj, The Oberoi, Pullman, Indian Accent and Olive Bar & Kitchen.
