We cannot believe that it has already been 28 years since Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe, and made India super proud. Does the model-turned-actor look any older? We don’t think so. On May 22, she celebrated 28 years of winning the Miss Universe pageant with her daughter, Renee Sen, hosting a special surprise party for her at home. Did you know that Sushmita was the first Indian woman to win the title after competing against contestants from 77 countries at the 1994 event in Philippines?

The actor, who was last seen in the OTT series 'Aarya', took to Instagram to share snippets from the party her daughter hosted to mark the milestone. The celebration saw Sushmita’s family and close friends in attendance, including ex-boyfriend, model Rohman Shawl. Sushmita posted a picture from the party and thanked her daughter for the special evening, where she can be seen laughing with her loved ones around her. Take a look:

“Thank you, Shona, @reneesen47 for this wonderful surprise & the memorable evening!!! In the company of love, laughter, family & friends…it couldn’t have been better!!!,” Sushmita wrote in the caption of the post along with heart emojis. But what caught our eye was a host of Instagram Stories that the actor shared, among which were glimpses of some decadent-looking cakes, which the actor celebrated with.

Sushmita’s milestone celebration was marked by two yummy cakes. One was sent to her by a popular five-star hotel in Mumbai, what looked like a stunning white chocolate cake with a royal crown on top. The other one was a special customised cake that had Sushmita’s iconic winning picture imprinted on a yummy chocolate cake. “Happy 28 years if creating history” the message on the cake read. The cake seemed to have been bought by Sushmita’s sister-in-law Charu Asopa Sen, as the actor thanked and tagged her in the picture. Take a look:

Doesn’t it look absolutely delicious!? And such a sweet gesture! “Yummyyyy the victory & the cake!!!” Sushmita wrote on the picture along with laughing and heart emojis. The other cake from the five-star hotel, too, looked absolutely royal. Check it out:

In other snaps from the celebration, Sushmita was also seen bonding with her niece – Rajeev Sen and Charu’s daughter – Ziana Sen. Sharing a bunch of pictures of the munchkin, Sushmita wrote, “Ziana Sen comes home to wish her "Sexy" a happy 28 years of Miss Universe,” along with the hashtags, “Bua ki jaan” and “VIP mehamaan.”

Isn’t that quite an adorable celebration? Sushmita was crowned the 43rd Miss Universe in 1994 at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Centre in Pasay, Philippines.
