Koregoan Park’s leafy streets and charming cafes in other areas make Pune a worthwhile destination for when other cities get overwhelming. Despite being low-key, Pune’s food scene could give Mumbai or Delhi a run for its money. The city has restaurants that serve everything from traditional Maharashtrian food to modern European fare. Vohuman Cafe
Established by the late Hormuz Irani in 1978, Vohuman Cafe has gone on to become an iconic Pune institution. It’s a favourite with most people, especially college students, who visit for the Irani chai, bun maska and cheese omelette. The menu is concise and has only a few items, but those are enough to draw people in. The cream plate, which is a combination of fresh cream and sugar, is very popular.

Dorabjee and Sons
An iconic Parsi restaurant, Dorabjee and Sons has been serving Punekars since 1878. If you’re visiting for breakfast, try the mutton cutlet or mutton patties and wash them down with a bottle of Ardeshir’s raspberry soda. The breakfast menu also includes akuri (Parsi-style scrambled eggs), other egg preparations and mutton paya. End your meal with the custard or malai kulfi.

Cafe Yezdan
Established in 1964, Cafe Yezdan in Camp has red brick walls and a legendary reputation. On the menu, you’ll find bun maska, omelette, and Irani chai among other Parsi specialties like salli scrambled eggs. Pair your meal with Ardeshir’s raspberry soda or a sweet lassi. The place has the ability to evoke nostalgia in those who have been going for years.

German Bakery
One of Pune’s oldest bakeries, German Bakery in Koregaon Park is known for its German sausage omelette, Spanish omelette and akuri on toast. Loyal customers throng the bakery, which is also known for its salads and cheesecakes. It’s an appealing breakfast spot that also serves snacks like chilli cheese toast and popcorn mushroom.

Hotel Vaishali
Hotel Vaishali is known for serving South Indian classics like masala dosa, uttapam, idli and dahi vada. The place is always packed so expect to wait a few minutes for a table.
