Every once in a while, spotting celebrities at their favourite iconic eateries delights every foodie. This time the city in question is known to be a haven of food and the celebrity we are talking about is one of the biggest foodies of B-town. We bet you've already put two and two together and guessed which celebrity is dining where. It's actress Karisma Kapoor who is in Kolkata enjoying desi food with her friends and family! Karisma was spotted at Trincas, a heritage restaurant in Kolkata, on a sunny Sunday afternoon at lunch. Reportedly, the actress joined her kids Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raj Kapoor who had already begun eating. The kids were dining along with friends of their mother, who live in the city. 

What did the Kapoors eat?

Samaira and Kiaan were seen enjoying an Italian delicacy. A plate of Spaghetti Bolognese lay in front of the duo and both of them really seemed to be relishing their lunch. Karisma joined her children a tad later. The actress opted to devour dishes from various regions of India including a hearty bowl of Punjabi Dal Makhani and a delicious serving of Kashmiri Rogan Josh. Apart from the spaghetti and curries, an assortment of breads lay at the table. Karisma was also seen enjoying and interacting with the jazz band that usually plays at the heritage restaurant during lunch every Sunday.

The years old heritage restaurant that Karisma was spotted dining at is called Trincas and it is located at the famous downtown spot of the city - Park Street. Trincas is a well known restaurant in Kolkata, and one where all foodies go to if they are craving a taste of authentic continental or Indian cuisine. The restaurant has had many celebrity guests in the past too. Did you know that renowned singer Usha Uthup used to sing here? Talking to a national daily, Usha Uthup who launched her singing career at Trincas said, "Satyajit Ray, Amitabh Bachchan, Kabir Bedi, Sharmila Tagore and Tiger Pataudi, Uttam Kumar, Supriya Devi, Jyoti Basu — everyone would come to listen to me at Trincas." The eatery is hailed for it's contribution to the city's urban culture and nightlife. It's popularly dubbed as the place where 'the music never stops.' Established initially as a tea-room and bakery in 1939, Trincas has today become the most unique restaurant in the city. It has history and a cultural legacy. Every true-blue Calcutta family has a story about Trincas and memories of having a lazy weekend lunch here. Trincas debuted at its present location on Park Street in 1939, however in 1959 it changed ownership and evolved over the years from a small bakery to a splendid eatery, adding cuisines, live entertainment, and secret spaces.
