If there’s one thing relatable between us and Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor, it has to be the love for food. Known for her illustrious film career and sense of style, the actor is much a foodie, and her numerous Instagram posts and stories are proof of that. If you happen to follow her on social media, you will know that she often shares snippets from her everyday life, especially her food shenanigans, with her fans and followers of over nine million.

The actor has been shooting back-to-back for multiple projects, and often shares glimpses from her sets. Remember when just last month Kareena shared a short video of her enjoying a plate full of crispy French Fries while on set of Devotion of Suspect X with actor Vijay Varma in Darjeeling? Read more about it here.

She is currently shooting with actor Jaideep Ahlawat, and took to Instagram stories to appreciate his performance in her own foodie way! Sharing a picture of her with a bowl full of kadhi, Kareena thanked her friend who bought it for her, and wrote “Thank you to the lovely Jyoti... Kadi was killer, just like Jaideep’s performances.” Take a look:

The kadhi sure looks amazing, doesn’t it? Kareena also added a sticker saying 'Food Coma'. Easy to prepare, delicious and tantalising, the classic kadhi pakoda with rice is a combo that can comfort any soul at any given time. If you ask me, I can savour Kadhi Chawal for every single meal, and luckily for me, there are a variety of ways you can prepare the same dish. Indian regional cuisine is packed with some of the most delicious kadhi recipes, and we can’t be more excited to try them all. Be it the slightly sweeter Gujarati one, the aromatic Maharashtrian one, or the classic Dhaba-style kadhi, there are options galore. And if you are also super enthusiastic about kadhi, and wish to try all that the regional cuisine has to offer, we’ve got some of the best right here:

1. Gujarati Kadhi

Gujarati cuisine is known for being a mix of savoury and sweet, and this is what makes its kadhi too distinct from the others. Usually served without any pakoras in it, the Gujarati kadhi is made using jaggery, besan, and curd. A tempering of butter, mustard seeds, ginger-garlic, chillies etc., work like magic on top when served hot.

2. Maharashtrian Kadhi

The Maharashtrian kadhi recipe is quite similar to the others except that it is made slightly less tangy and without pakoras, similar to Gujarati kadhi. Prepared with a mix of curd and besan in a bowl, the mix is added to the pan along with curry leaves and dried red chillies. Cooked until thickened, Maharashtrian Kadhi is served best with some rice or Maharashtrian-style bhakri roti.

3. Rajasthani Kadhi

Now, Rajasthani cuisine is famous all over the country for being full of spices and chillies, and its kadhi proves it well. Made with whole red chillies, red chilli powder, and green chillies, Rajasthani Kadhi is one to tantalise your taste buds with the robust and hot flavours. You can make the pakoras with palak to complement the kadhi. Serve it with jeera rice.
