Only Potterheads know the joy of waving a mock wand and casting spells upon things and people to get the Harry Potter vibe. The fantasy movie series is completing 20 years of hooking people to its magic this year and we know Potterheads cannot keep calm. Having mentioned that, I am all set to do a Harry Potter marathon today and tomorrow with my sister. And if you are a Potterhead like me too, then I know you can’t keep calm anymore. After all, the cast that filled our childhoods with all things magical, hopeful and entertaining are all set to reunite again.

As a kid, I remember taking my mom’s lipstick to draw a scar on my forehead, making my sister act as Voldemort, using a stick as my wand and casting mock spells on her to play. Back then, I didn’t know that the series will become so much to me. However, as I grew up, my interest in cooking gave these play sessions a different turn. And as we were planning about snacks for our marathon, I came across the idea of making a pretzel wand to be included in our menu. If you are a Harry Potter fanatic like me, then this pretzel wand recipe is the one to bookmark. Quite easy to make and laborsaving, all you have to do to make these wands is to buy a packet of pretzel rods and decorate them as per your preference.

For making pretzel wands, buy a packet of pretzel rods from the supermarket or online, half cup peanut butter, confectioner’s sugar, 1.5 cups dark and white chocolate chips, ¼ cup cooking oil and a handful of rainbow sprinkles. Mix peanut butter and confectioner’s sugar in equal amounts in a bowl and fill the mixture in a piping bag. Place parchment paper over a baking tray and lay the pretzel rods over them. Pipe the peanut butter mixture in a zig-zag pattern over the rods covering about 2/3rd way down each rod and freeze till the peanut butter mixture is firm. In a tall glass, melt the chocolate chips and oil till the chips have melted. Stir well to combine. Dip the pretzel rods in the chocolate mixture to cover the peanut butter swirls. Cover the chocolate with the sprinkles before the mixture dries out. Refrigerate the rods for about 20 minutes and relish.

These pretzel wands are all things fun, delicious and oh-so-Harry-Potter-ish. Do try them out at home and let us know how they turn out.
