World's 50 Best Restaurants 2023 Included Two Indian Spots

Helmed by Chef Himanshu Saini, Tresind Studio located in Dubai grabbed the 11th rank in the World's 50 Best Restaurants for 2023. While Gaggan Anand, Bangkok was awarded the 17th rank on the same list. The ceremony was held in Valencia, Spain and this award list is an esteemed achievement of the culinary sector.

Asia's 50 Best List for 2023 Had Three Indian Restaurants

Three Indian restaurants made it to Asia's Top 50 in 2023. While Masque, Mumbai bagged the 16th place, Indian Accent from Delhi and Avartana, from Chennai were at 19th and 30th position respectively. Before this, Indian Accent, Delhi had been awarded India's best restaurant by the same organisation for seven consecutive years (2015 to 2021). 

Four Indian Bars Made It To Asia's 50 Best List For 2023 

Apart from restaurants many Indian bars have also got recognition among Asia's top 50. Sidecar, New Delhi got 18th rank, The Bombay Canteen, Mumbai was given 35th spot and Copitas, Bengaluru was placed at 38th position.  

An Indian Chef Was Recognised As One Of 'New Talents Of The Year' By La Liste

A French ranking company and restaurant guide, named La Liste, recognised Indian Chef Vanika Choudhary as one of the 'New Talents Of The Year' for 2024. Chef Vanika is popular for her restaurants, Noon and Sequel.  

An Indian Chef Ranked Fourth At World Tapas Competition 2023

World Tapas Competition 2023 which was held in Spain this time awarded fourth rank to a Mumbai-based pastry chef Zareen Shaukat. The competition had 16 other expert chefs, but India’s representative amazed the judges with her unique creation named "Murgh Makhani Mille-Feuille". 

Three Indian Chefs Were Awarded Michelin Stars In 2023

Three Indian chefs from Chicago, Washington DC and New York were awarded Michelin Stars in 2023. This highest culinary honour was given to Chef Chetan Shetty (Rania, Washington DC), Chef Vijay Kumar (Semma, New York City) and Chef Sujan Sarkar (Indienne, Chicago).  

An Indian Cheese Company Ranked Fourth At World Cheese Awards 2023


An artisanal cheese company called Eleftheria Cheese, based in Mumbai was given three titles at the World Cheese Awards in October 2023. The ceremony was organised in Norway and the company's Brunost, a Norwegian brown cheese was awarded fourth position. 

Best Street Foods In The World Featured Four Indian Dishes

A reputed food and travel guide called Taste Atlas regularly releases lists of best dishes which are usually based on its audience rankings. This year tikka, dosa, chole bhature and Amritsari kulcha were featured in the category of 'Best Street Foods In The World,'.  

Indian Cuisine Was On Spotlight At Cannes 2023

Besides Indian talents on the red carpet and the screens our cuisine also had a spotlight at Cannes 2023. Chef Prateek Sadhu was invited to helm the inaugural dinner at this World-famous film festival. The special menu reflected the diversity of regional Indian cuisines and included dishes like millet thoran, Malvani style sole fish, Mysore Pak, Kashmiri kahwa and so on. 

Asia's Top 50 For 2023 Featured Two Indian Pizzerias

An Italy-based media organisation called 50 Top Pizza announced region-specific guides naming the best pizzerias. Two Indian Pizzerias were featured among the top 50 in Asia Pacific for 2023. The first one is Da Susy in Gurugram's Sector 50, it was ranked 44th.  While Leo's Pizzeria in New Delhi was awarded the 47th position.
