Gordon Ramsay is bringing his talents to South Beach. The celebrity chef, best known for his reality show "Hell's Kitchen," has secured a lease for a restaurant in the South-of-Fifth neighbourhood. He has opened Lucky Cat café in the Yukon building at 119 Washington Avenue.

Listing broker Cyril Bijaoui of The Company Real Estate revealed that Lucky Cat will occupy a 9,000-square-foot space. The space was asking for around $75 per square foot, triple-net. Sara Wolfe from the Koniver Stern Group represented the renter.

According to a press release, the restaurant will have an open kitchen, raw bar, private dining rooms, a chef's table, and a late-night lounge. It was successfully launched on 16 February 2024. The restaurant is expected  be a huge hit, and it is 1950s Shanghai-inspired. The guests and celebrities present in the opening are some of the huge names such as Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Lisa Hochstein.

Ramsay has several restaurants in the United States, including Las Vegas, Orlando, and Atlantic City, but this is his first in South Florida. The original Lucky Cat, an Asian-inspired restaurant, debuted in London in 2019.

The 10-year lease in Miami Beach is for ground-floor space at the Yukon, close to other celebrity hangouts like Joe's Stone Crab, Prime 112, and Major Food Group's Carbone.

The facility is now fully leased to office tenants paying some of South Florida's highest-known rentals, over $100 per square foot.

Ramsay, a Michelin-starred restaurateur, media personality, and author, is the latest high-profile chef to plant his flag in South Florida, where Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, José Andrés, Stephen Starr, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and the late Joël Robuchon all have restaurants.
