Albuquerque is commonly referred to as ABQ, Burque, or Duke City. It is the most populous city in New Mexico in the United States. It was named in honour of Francisco Fernández de la Cueva, 10th Duke of Alburquerque and Viceroy of New Spain.
It was founded in 1706 as La Villa de Alburquerque by Santa Fe de Nuevo México governor Francisco Cuervo y Valdés. It functioned as an outpost on El Camino Real, connecting Mexico City to the northernmost regions of New Spain.
The city, part of the Albuquerque Basin, is bisected by the Rio Grande and Bosque, which run through it from north to south. To the east and west, respectively, are the Sandia Mountains and West Mesa.

3. Dog House Drive In
The Mead family founded The Dog House Drive-In in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The current location was built in the 1960s and is a famous example of Route 66 memorabilia. The Dog House is a historic, cosy tourist attraction serving footlong chilli dogs. It has been featured in the TV shows Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. One should try out the spot for sure.

Annie's Soup Kitchen has been open since 1973. The original owner started the small soup and sandwich bar in 1973 and named it after her daughter, Annie. Federidelfo's is also known as El Modelo Tortilla Factory. It was opened in 1929 in a three-room home. Carmen Garcia is the original owner. She would wake up at 2 AM to hand-make flour tortillas to sell for breakfast. She also hired Petra Vargas to make tamales, who then taught Garcia's family how to make tamales. El Modelo serves Mexican food, including tamales, sopapillas, and comfort food. It offers dine-in, takeout, curbside pickup, and outdoor seating.
