This annual event, held on the second Saturday of June, brings together gin enthusiasts from around the globe to honour and revel in the splendid spirit that is gin. With its rich history and diverse flavours, gin has earned its place as a beloved and versatile beverage.
The origins of World Gin Day can be traced back to 2009 when a passionate gin lover named Neil Houston decided to gather fellow enthusiasts and celebrate their shared appreciation for this remarkable libation. What started as a small gathering in Birmingham, United Kingdom, quickly gained momentum and blossomed into a worldwide celebration.
World Gin Day provides the perfect opportunity to embrace the spirit's versatility and embark on a thrilling journey of mixology. With its diverse range of botanicals and the myriad of flavours available, gin serves as an excellent base for crafting innovative and enticing cocktails. It's a chance to experiment, explore, and create your own signature gin-based masterpieces.
To honour that spirit of adventure, Sweta Mohanty, Mixologist and Sommelier at Aspri Spirits has curated a selection of jaw-dropping cocktails in collaboration with Burnett’s and Ginarte. Mix up these signature drinks this weekend to see your favourite tipple transformed into something new!
Fridamor
A fresh and strong cocktail, for those who love simple but quality drinking.
Ingredients
- 50 ml Ginarte
- 50 ml Cordial of lime and cocoa leaves
- 20 ml Lemon
- 10 ml Sugar
Method:
- Put all the ingredients in a glass, add ice and mix for a few seconds, decorate with a slice of lime.
Viva La Vida
A perfectly done Negroni, strong and offset by a note of freshness provided by grapefruit, for those who always know what they want.
Ingredients
- 30 ml Ginarte
- 30 ml Red Vermouth
- 30 ml Bitter
- Drops of pink grapefruit
Method:
- Put all the ingredients in the mixing glass and mix for a few seconds, pour into a low tumbler.
Cucumber Cooler
Ingredients
- 60 ml Burnett London Dry Gin
- 10 ml Lime Juice
- 10 ml Simple Syrup
- 2-3 Bar Spoons of Chopped Cucumber
Method:
- Muddle the cucumber in a shaker
- Add all the other ingredients to the shaker
- Add ice to the shaker
- Shake all ingredients nice and hard
- Take a tall glass and fill it with ice
- Strain the cocktail into the tall glass
- Top it up with tonic water as needed
- Garnish with thin Cucumber Slices

The perfect Martini cocktail, a drink with a timeless charm.
Ingredients
- 40 ml Ginarte
- 30 ml Vermouth Dry
- 2 ml Drops of Bergamot Bitter
Method:
- Add the ingredients to the glass and mix carefully, pour into a bowl and garnish with lemon zest.
Mint Cooler
Ingredients:
- 60 ml Burnett London Dry Gin
- 10 ml Lime Juice
- 10 ml Simple Syrup
- 2-3 Bar Spoons of Fresh Mint leaves
Method:
- Muddle the mint leaves in the shaker
- Add all the other ingredients in the shaker
- Add ice to the shaker
- Shake all ingredients nice and hard
- Take a tall glass and fill it with ice
- Strain the cocktail into the tall glass
- Top it up with tonic water as per needed
- Garnish with mint Sprigs
Tusc Mex
A fresh and spicy drink, for “calientes“ personalities who always love to feel a touch of summer in their lives.
Ingredients
- 50 ml Ginarte
- 30 ml Papaya Guacamole
- 10 ml Amaro
- 20 ml Lime
Method:
- Put all the ingredients in a shaker and shake firmly, pour into a tumbler and garnish with a mince of pepper and coriander leaves.
