Winter Diet: How A Cup Of Cinnamon, Ginger Honey Tea Can Do Wonders This Season

While we like the change of weather at times, we also need to be careful about the infections it brings along. Remember, we are still dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic and need to take care of our health. But who says that taking care of health means consuming boring food? With a little play in the ingredients, you can not only make your cup of tea more flavourful but also more nutritious. Due to which our body can fight diseases and boost immunity too.

Cinnamon, ginger and honey are three of the most common ingredients in our kitchen and you just need these three to make it a perfect cuppa. 

Known as the spice that cures, cinnamon is most commonly used in baked goods to add a touch of distinct flavour and aroma but is also prized with exceptional medicinal properties. Loaded with antioxidants, cinnamon protects our body from cell-damaging agents. It fights all sorts of infections, including bacterial and fungal ones. Honey (shahad), on the other hand, has antimicrobial properties that help soothes the throat besides killing certain infection-causing bacterias. Another powerhouse of antioxidants, honey, removes free radicals from the body. Ginger, one of the most common ingredients in Indian cuisine, is more than just a pungent herb. As per experts, ginger comes with volatile oils with anti-inflammatory properties perfect for relieving flu, headaches and even menstrual cramps. Here’s how you can make cinnamon, ginger and honey tea at home: 

Ingredients: 

Cinnamon powder- 1 tsp 

Ginger (crushed)- ½ tsp 

Honey- 1 tsp 

Water- 1 cup 

Method: 

1. Bring water to boil, add the ginger and cinnamon to it. 

2. Let the water simmer for a while. 

3. Pour in a cup and add honey. Stir well. 

4. Sip this concoction every morning to reap all the benefits.
