When S. Jaishankar Explored Bangaluru’s  VV Puram Food Street

Politician and former Indian diplomat serving as the Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar was recently spotted eating to glory along with Kripal Amanna who is a passionate food story teller. During the food walk S. Jaishankar was seen enjoying several dishes that are famous in VV Puram like Holige, Gudbud, Avocado milkshake, ice cream and more.  

This food walk was a part of his three-day tour of Karnataka. He was also accompanied by Higher Education Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan and none other than famous food blogger Kripal Amanna was leading the walk. He also presented the national flag to some venders of the street as a part of “Har Ghar Tiranga” event.

VV Puram is the most popular food street in Bangalore, and a must visit destination for food lovers.  Also known as Thindi Beedi in Kannada, it is always crowded with locals and tourists as it is a one stop destination to find some of the best delicacies in the city. There are several Dosa stalls in VV Puram. One can go for the traditional dosa or the Bath Masala Dosa that is doused with butter and served with lemon rice and potato palya. It is so heavy that you might need the help of your friend to finish the whole dosa. 

4. Congress Buns

Congress bun and khara butter at VB bakery is a must try. The delicious bun smeared with butter and Congress Kadlekai is served with split peanuts tossed in pepper-curry masala. The bakery sells a wide range of cakes, buns and sweet buns. These fresh buns are so soft and delicious that you will not be satisfied with just one serving. 

5. Dhabeli Roll

The famous Gujrati savoury dish has a unique craze among food lovers. The spicy masala potato stuffed into a soft roll is loved by all the visitors. Even the locals visit the VV Puram frequently just to taste the flavour of Dhabeli roll. Unlike the traditional dhabeli it is served in roll rather than bun.  

6. Capsicum and Banana Bhajji 



In Khao Gali, one cannot miss the Bhajji. There are a variety of Bhajjis but Capsicum and Banana Bhajjis are a must try. These bajjis have a hint of pepper and red chilli that can give a kick to your taste buds. The flavour of raw and delicious spices can satisfy all your snacks cravings. And they are served with a delicious chutney. 

7. Twister Potatoes

What if your favourite french fries was in a different shape. Potato Twister is the answer for that. Also known as Twistato, this is a very popular snack of VV Puram and whole potato is spiralized to make this unique and delicious snack, which is then dipped in batter and fried until crispy brown. It is served with chilli and cheese toppings.
