As per USDA, tomato includes just 18 calories per 100 grams, making it an ideal food for any calorie-restricted diet. It also comes packed with fibre and antioxidants that induce the feeling of fullness and boosts metabolism. Both these properties accelerate weight loss. Besides, tomatoes help in the production of an amino acid, called carnitine, which is known to enhance the body's fat burning abilities.

Ingredients: 

  • 3 big tomatoes 
  • 8-10 galric cloves
  • 1 tsp ghee 
  • Seasonings to garnish (optional)

Method: 

  • Roast the tomatoes along with 4-5 cloves of garlic on a pan. 
  • Continue roasting until the outer skin of the tomato is burnt well. 
  • De-skin the tomatoes and put them in a blender. 
  • Peel and add the burnt garlic too. Blend them together until you get a smooth paste. 
  • Heat ghee in a deep bottom pan. Chop the rest of the garlic and add to the pan. 
  • Fry the garlic until it’s golden brown.
  • Then, add the tomato-garlic paste in it. 
  • Simmer it on low flame for a couple of minutes and serve hot with seasonings of your choice. 
  • You can pair the soup with two slices of toasted brown/atta/multi-grain bread.
