The combination of melted cheese and crispy bread is such that it makes for a great appetiser. We often order a platter of garlic bread even without a main dish of pasta, soups or stews. Or simply order extra garlic bread sticks, after all two is never enough.

We have found one recipe for making restaurant-style garlic bread at home and that too without an oven. Yes, you heard us. This recipe of garlic bread uses no special utensils, and is made with simple, easily available ingredients at home. 

Juicy, cheesy and full of flavour, this garlic bread is perfect for your midday hunger pangs or as an evening snack with a cup of tea. Here’s a recipe by Slurrp Community member @homechefalison that you can easily make at home on a tawa. Take a look at the recipe video:


4 bread slices  

4 tbsp butter 

1 tsp garlic (chopped)  

1 tsp chilli flakes 

1 tsp oregano 

1 tsp fresh coriander  

2 tbsp sweet boiled corn 

½ tsp black pepper powder  

1 tsp schezwan sauce 

½ cup mozzarella cheese  


. Take a bowl and add butter, garlic, chilli flakes, oregano, and coriander. Then mix them well. 

. In another bowl, add sweet corn, black pepper, schezwan sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Then mix them well. 

. Now, take two bread slices and spread the two mixtures on both sides, one over another.  

. Put one slice on another and apply the butter garlic mixture on top as well. 

. Toast the bread from both sides on low flame.  

. Serve the hot, crunchy, and cheesy garlic bread with your favourite dip.
