Summers are here and the heat is already becoming unbearable. With the temperatures rising and the weather sending our brains for a toss, it is imperative that we keep ourselves cool and relaxed. Staying hydrated is of utmost importance to us. Even doctors recommend staying away from greasy and oily food and indulging in fresh and nutrient-rich food. During the sweltering heat, it is best that you stay indoors and avoid exposure to the sun as much as you can. Also, it is said that you should drink cool beverages, be it nimbu paani or lemonade, shikanji, jaljeera, fresh fruit juices and the like. It is best to abstain from consuming sugary drinks like packaged juices, squash, soft drinks etc.

As a kid, I remember craving for candy every other day. After school, I would buy candy from the nearby food stall outside the premises. They had all sorts of tangy, sweet and sour bites that made me twitch my eyes as soon as I licked them. Today, whenever I see anyone selling candies I become nostalgic. To add to this nostalgia, home chef @tadka_mar_ke experimented with candy to make some delicious candy coolers. She picked three different candies and crushed them to make amazing drinks that can be consumed in summers.

These candy coolers have become viral and are trending on social media. Made with orange, cola and mint-flavoured candy, the coolers look amazing. Do you want to try them too? Here are the recipes to try.

Pro tips

  • You can take any candy but avoid the chocolate ones- they don't mix well.
  • Instead of sparkling soda you can use cold drinks too (think of interesting pairings) but then use the normal ice cubes instead of sweetened ones.
