One of the things that kept us going through the difficult waves of the pandemic was the internet. Homebound during the prolonged isolation period, many also took to cooking. Harping on the same, we bring you the story of Gurgaon’s ‘Iron Lady’, a home chef who has been selling ‘ghar ka khaana’ for over 25 years now.
The food blogger, who goes by the username @youtubeswadofficial, recently took to his Instagram handle and uploaded a video where we see a middle-aged woman selling fresh homemade food at her stall in Gurgaon.
She cooks chicken curry at home and packs them in large containers. She then takes the containers to her stall, named ‘Aunty Ki Rasoi’, where she serves food to people. The blogger claimed that the woman has been selling food there for over a quarter-century and works for around 15 hours a day.
Ever since the video has been uploaded, it has garnered more than a million views, about 147k likes and hundreds of applauding and kind comments from netizens. While one person wrote, “Wow so inspirational ❤️ would love to try her food soon 😍”, another said, “Salute to such people who live their life by doing hard work and do not compromise on shortcuts”.
Other people have flooded the comments section applauding the blogger for bringing small businesses into the limelight. “Videos like this, supporting small businesses are so worth watching. It spreads the message to support nearby points," one comment read.
